How Much Does a Photo Booth Cost in NYC?

One of the most common questions I get is: "So how much does it actually cost to rent a photo booth in New York City?"

Fair question—NYC is full of events, and the range of photo booth pricing reflects that variety. You’ll see options starting around $200 and others well over $2,000. So what’s the difference?

Here’s a general idea:

  • $200–$700: Typically very minimal setups—digital-only, short windows, or drop-off booths with little to no hosting. Good for low-key gatherings or DIY-style events where simplicity is the goal.

  • $700–$1,200 This is the range where a lot of great event booths live—including Rent My Booth. You’re likely getting high-quality lighting, high quality cameras, prints, digital sharing, themed props, and—importantly—a real host to keep things flowing. This range works well for weddings, birthdays, brand events, and anything that wants to feel fun and polished.

  • $1,200–$1,500: More customization, upgraded backdrops, branded overlays, specialty props, and a host who doubles as an extension of your party team. This tier is great if you want something seamless and intentional.

  • $1,500–$2,000+: This range often includes what people think of as “celebrity” or high-glam booths—Kardashian-style set-ups with soft-focus black & white photos, hyper-minimal aesthetics, and a big emphasis on the look. These booths may not include props or prints, and often focus more on creating a high-end image rather than a social, interactive experience. Perfect for very formal weddings, brand activations, and design-forward events.

At Rent My Booth, pricing typically falls between $700 and $1,200, depending on your guest count, how long we’re there, and how customized you’d like things to feel. You can reach out for a same day, no pressure quote & I’ll get back to you with exact pricing details.

The sweet spot, in my opinion, is that middle range—where the booth isn’t just functional, but fun, stylish, and well-hosted. Where people don’t just use it… they come back for round two.
